At Philly ALC, the whole community is the classroom. Our students learn from practitioners—which means we're always looking for people with something to share.
Come once. Share what you do: a career, a craft, a passion, a perspective. No lesson plan required. Just show up and be yourself around curious young people.
Return over several sessions to develop something with interested students: a contained series, or an open-ended recurring presence. Past residencies have included sewing, clay, and soldering. We're open to anything.
Have an interesting space? Invite us in. Working studios, labs, farms, community organizations—if it's a place where real work happens, our students want to see it.
A community organization, small business, or nonprofit whose work touches self-directed learning or youth empowerment? We're interested in lasting relationships, and connecting families to your services, hosting workshops, or whatever makes sense.
We're especially eager to hear from people with experience in arts and making, science and nature, civic and community life, math and technology, trades and practical skills, and expressive and performing arts.
But if you don't see yourself on that list, reach out anyway! The best partnerships are often the ones we didn't anticipate.
